Good Deal Alert...

Restaurant.com is having a great sale, you can get $25 gift certificates for $2 each. I bought a bunch on their weekend sale (80% off everything), and we got 9 certificates for 18.60!!!  Just enter FALL as the promo code.

Re: Good Deal Alert...

  • What restaurants do you usually get gift certificates to through this site? I've noticed that with all of the stipulations that it can be hard to use them at certain places  so I was just wondering if there are some restaurants that are better about accepting them and handling them than others.
  • We've used them at a few different places. The biggest issue for us is spending the minimum. We normally don't get the extra's like apps/deserts/etc. However, when we have these coupons to use, we do get them to get our bill up there. For example, Brick Road Pizza has a $25 certificate, but you have to spend $35 to use it. When we redeem it, we'll either order extra stuff or treat friends to dinner.
  • We tried some of those a couple of years ago and by the time we spent the minimum & then got the discount, we still ended up spending about the same as if we'd just ordered & paid for our usual meals.  We kind of gave up after that even though it still seems like they should be a good deal.
