Re: Monday vents
I'm sick of eating!!
I'm diabetic and I've been really lazy about my eating habits over the past few years. Over the last year, my A1C has been higher than it should be. The last time I was at the Dr. she started talking about putting me on injections and it completely freaked me out, so now I'm trying to get everything back under control.
Because I'm eating properly, I have to eat 4-5 times a day. It's really annoying!! Also, since I work from home, I try to have something quick and easy for lunch, I typically just have a frozen meal of some kind. I try and have something with 10 grams of fat or less. The problem is those meals have about half of the carbs that I need. Unfortunately I don't really like yogurt, I didn't grow up eating fruit so it's not a go to for me either and most veggies have too few carbs to help much. So I wind up either eating significantly fewer carbs than I should or seriously over eating.
I swear, it's so much easier to just eat like crap. I could go to McDonalds and have a 10 piece nugget and small fries and I'd be dead on with carb intake.
I can't lose weight for the life of me. I've put on way too much just in the year we've been married, plus all of the college weight that I gained before that. Ugh.
Other vents: I hate today's weather and I'm freezing. And I'm so tired of our apartment being a disgusting mess that I'm taking a personal day next week to do a "fall" cleaning. My in-laws are coming up Thursday - Saturday, so that gives me a good excuse.
I have been trouble losing weight as well and it's really frustrating.
Vent #2: I am feeling nauseous quite frequently and I wish I knew why.
Vent #3: DH has been interviewing for a new job since like the end of August. He has had 3 interviews. Some back ground checking and now they called and they want permission to talk to his boss at his current job. Can't you just decide already?!
The girl who cut my hair today...
*mantra* It will grow out, it will grow out, it will grow out
Let's just say she didn't 'get' what I was telling her and then she put a ton of mousse in my hair trying to cover up a bad cut.
No complaints; still feeling the vacation high.
WoW- do you like smoothies or oatmeal? You can do smoothies with oatmeal (cant taste it) or oatmeal with protein powder, nuts, raisins...both should have a good ratio for what you are looking for. What about grilled cheese and veggies? Or baked potatoe with chili or salsa? I'm the opposite of you- i eat 5 times a day and wish I could eat more! I also try to really limit carbs (at least starchy carbs)... it's sad when "cheats" are Triscuits, whole wheat sandwiches, potatoes, etc
Any of you ladies who are having weight loss issues, do/could you have PCOS?? I do. I had issues losing weight too, until I cut back on carbs. The insulin resistance PCOS can cause pretty much means that most of the carbs you eat might as well just be glued to your a$$.
And I hate the low carb thing too. I splurge sometimes and I don't miss snacking on carbs nearly as much as I thought I would, I just feel like I run out of things to eat so easily. I'm in and out of my car all day so I can't pack microwave food in a lunch, and I have trouble packing food that I can eat in my car that will actually keep me full most of the day. Salads just don't seem to have staying power. So that's my vent!!
