Hi ladies. I'm doing an open house/brunch in my [semi]new home. It's going to be girls only, and I will have some family and friends of my mom's. They've been begging to see the house, so I'm going to show it off! haha Anyway, I want to make it kind of fancy and fun! I'm going to do paper invites. I have ideas for the menu(but I am open to suggestion).....french toast casserole, fruit, cucumber sandwiches, quiche and truffles for a sweet bite. Also, coffee and maybe non-alcoholic mimosas. (They're not drinkers.) What do you think of this menu, do you have better suggestions? Also, should I decorate for the brunch specifically or just do fall-like decor? I think I'm maybe over thinking this. I'm used to hosting football gatherings, where it's alcohol and snacks. I just want to make sure this is nice.
Re: Hosting Brunch
What exactly would a NA mimosa be since mimosas are only OJ and champagne? lol
Your menu sounds good. Maybe insert a savory potato dish.
I'm not one to decorate for parties - all I ever do is put out fresh flowers. Grocery stores here always have nice bouquets for $15 or so in seasonal colors. Since you did want to do this nicer, I'd consider putting a fall colored tablecloth on your table. (I just picked one up from Target this weekend - cream with rust, gold, olive and slate plaid on the ends.) If you used that tablecloth, an arrangement of rust and gold flowers would look lovely.

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
Oh ya, I do need a new table cloth, thanks! As for the mimosas, I was thinking of doing cranberry ones. With cranberry juice, and sprite, maybe garnish with cranberries?
The cranberry drink sounds good...something a little different. I agree with the pp on getting fresh flowers.
Will it be a buffett style? Do you have all the serving dishes that you need and table ware?
Those sound really good! Maybe you could serve them in champagne flutes so they still have the "mimosa" type feel.
For fall type decorations, I would suggest maybe those mini-pumpkins and some gourds and some orange or cranberry colored candles or pumpkin scented candles as the centerpiece.
