parking in downtown chicago?

DH and i are driving into chicago this weekend.  our hotel charges $53 a day to park!  i've suggested parking at the airport and taking the train in, but my DH doesn't want to do that.  does anyone know of any reputable parking lots in the downtown area where we could leave our car for 3 days?  thx!

Re: parking in downtown chicago?

  • Not sure where you are staying but there is a garage on Ohio and Rush street called ROW self park for $37 a night. Still expensive but cheaper than the hotel. There is also an open lot that is $25ish a night on Illinois and Rush but it is not secured. I work downtown and $37 is the cheapest I know for overnight parking.

  • staying at the W on W Adams St.  i found Millenium Park Garage that's close and seems to be doable...???
  • I live in River North and there is an open lot for $6/day and is fine for overnight parking. It's located on Kinzie St just west of Clinton St. next to The Bloomer Chocolate Factory. We use it for our guest parking when we have people in town. The only thing is you'll have to go back on Sat eve to pay through Sun.

  • We always park at Millennium park during the day, but when we come back for the car at night it is usually pretty empty.  Do  they do overnights there?  I've never seen anyone patrolling the cars either.  The agents just seem to stay in the booths.
