Re: oil cleansing with coconut oil girls

  • I havenlt had that problem, though I use other oils. I would try either (or both) pour baking soda and vinegar into the drain, et sit, then rinse with hot water or rinse it with dishsoap mixed with hot water.

  • I haven't had a problem either, but I haven't been using coconut oil for very long.

  • There's also a little, cheap contraption you can buy called a zipper or zipit (or something similar) that works wonders on drains.  It says it's one-use, but dh uses ours lots of times before it has to be replaced.

  • if it's just the coconut oil that's clogging it, warm water should "melt" it.  I would try pouring hot water downt eh drain and see if that helps.
  • Ohhh.... I didn't think about that! Both my sink and shower drains have been getting a clog. I wonder if that's it?

  • Next time you cook pasta, pour your hot water down the drain to help clear the oil.

  • i made a scrub with coconut oil and sugar that i used in the shower the other night, and although i've used it before, this time i rinsed with cooler water because it was pretty hot outside and my drain got clogged. i tried running really hot water, but we had to use a drain cleaner Huh?

  • Oh, no!  It's always worked for me... i've heard of enzyme-based drain cleaners, but i don't know anything about them.  Maybe worth a try?
