Cold Sores

So I very rarely get cold sores and hence have little experience with them.  I have 2 right next to each other on my lower lip.  While they seem to be healing pretty well, they look nasty.  And of course, I'm heading out to a fancy-pants dinner tonight with some friends.  Is there anyway for me to cover them up?  I didn't know if putting lipstick on them would actually help hide them, or make them mad so they get bigger.  Any tips?

Re: Cold Sores

  • I don't think anything will hide them completely for tonight. You can try Abreva (available without a prescription) to make it go away sooner. GL!

  • Nothing to hide them.

I am a Licensed Massage Therapist. With Level one Aromatherapy. A cool trick is to find some Geranium Essential Oil make sure its the real deal.

Sometimes you can find it at an herb shop.

The next time you feel the tingle take a cotton ball with 2-3 drops of Geranium oil right onto the tingle or the soon to be Cold Sore and it will dry it up so it won't be all nasty in a couple of days. keep it hydrated as it could dry your skin out as well.

Good Luck! I hate Cold Sores. But this works Miracles! :)
