Anyone here go to Dr. Felski? A friend recommended him to me after my somewhat bad experience during my L&D, but I wanted to see if anyone else sees him and/or knows if he does VBAC deliveries (in case we ever have more children).
Thanks
Re: S/O OB/Gyn Recs?
you will have a hard time finding an OB in this area who will agree to a VBAC. I have looked. I have been told by a few that if I showed up in active labor (far enough along) that they would not stop the process but most will schedule the c-section between 38-39 weeks to prevent that from happened (I was induced after 41 wks with my daughter).
I don't have the names anymore but I beleive their was one OB in Oviedo who would allow you to do a VBAC but he required you to pay additional money (above what your insurance would pay) to basically cover his "time" since he had to be at the hospital the whole time you are labor in case there is a problem. I think someone told me it was $1000.
My current OB told me that she knows of one local OB (she didnt not tell me their name) who she knows does VBAC but he does not carry any malpractice insurance.
I have just given up hope of having a VBAC. I am terrified of having a c-section (I was knocked out for my other one) so I am not sure if I will have another child for that reason.
I delivered my daughter when I lived in Maryland and my old OB told me while I was still in the hospital that she would allow me to have a VBAC for my second child (when that time came).
Hmmmm...I have no problems getting another C-section. There is no way in hell I would want to go through labor again. Apparently there aren't many people that feel the same way. Since I pretty much got to experience both labor (including pushing for almost 2 hours) and surgery, I would gladly take a C-section any day!
Obviously that didn't answer your question, but I have never heard of that doctor. Good luck with your quest.
And hey...I thought you entered Angelica in the huggable baby contest??? She's so cute. She always smiles at me when I see her.
