anniversary gifts by year

Has anyone followed this, or plan to follow this... like 1st year is supposed to be paper etc?  Just curious...

Nope, probably not.

We probably won't even exchange gifts this year b/c we are going on a cruise for our 1st anniversary.

I'm not really a big gift giver for stuff like that anyway though. We didn't even do wedding gifts for each other! LOL. I think it's kind of a waste of $$, personally. I'd rather go on a trip! We normally only give gifts for like Xmas & birthdays.

We do!  We didn't want to go to crazy on anniversary presents, so thought that sticking to the year "theme" would be fun. I got photos and put them in a frame for DH's office and he got me a book that I had been wanting.  Both "paper".

I think it will be a fun way to celebrate our anniversary without spending a lot of money.  :-)

I doubt we will be following that since we both agreed that instead of presents we would go on a vacation every year. I still think we could find a way to incorporate that theme though. I mean... paper, we could do cards, ya know?

Not sure what we will do, but friends & famiy have.  My mom got my brother and SIL stationary their first year.  And a friend got toilet paper & tissue boxes with their pictures on it...it was pretty cute.

We're not usually anniversary gift givers but I think I'll do it this year for our first.  I plan on getting DH a print of the night sky from our wedding night.  I think he'll really like it and other nesties have had good results.  Plus it is paper. 

But like Alison and Sarah, we're going on a cruise and that's our real gift.

This. We took a trip to Catalina, so maybe our tickets were our paper? I would always rather take a trip then receive a gift.

We did for our first anniversary and since I love traditions, we'll probably keep it up. I got Alex floor seats to DMB, and he got me an iPad (electronic paper) and family/individual stationery.

We do this.  I love traditions as well.  I got DH last year an indigo night print of the night of our wedding.  He got me a card and plane tickets to Napa. We're going on a trip this year, but I still would like to get him a gift for our 2nd anniversary.

I don't know if we will do this or not...We are not gift givers for any holiday and we didn't do wedding gifts either.  I don't even do cards because I think they're a waste of money and paper.  Last year I got us reservations at the Melting Pot.  Neither one of us had been to one and our closest one is over an hour away.  I think I might keep up that "tradition" with trying new places to go out and eat.

I don't think DH really has a concept of this tradition, but for our first anniversary, I bought him stock of a company he likes so it could be framed and he could put it up at his office at work.

Rose- I adore personal stationary.

I stand corrected, I enjoy trips and prezzies.

We decided that we would use our dating anniversary as our "travel anniversary" since our wedding was on MIL's bday (which she gave graciously) and my family goes on vacation the same month.  I was trying to figure out a cute new anniversary tradition for our wedding anniversary.... I think we may use it... I still haven't decided, lots of time though...
