Nestie thoughts and prayers please!

DH's grandmother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer back in April and was told she had a year left. We just got word that she is not doing good and is in the hospital. DH and I are driving down to San Diego to visit her and attend his cousin's baby shower.  We were all hoping she would make it to at least see the arrival of her grandbabies.  Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.

  • Thank you all very much. We got an update last night from MIL. Grams is in a lot of pain from a tumor she also has. But they can't operate to remove the tumor b/c she is too weak. MIL said it could be down to weeks, if not days. Grams is the sweetest woman I have ever met.  As long as I've had the pleasure of having her in my life, she has always put everyone else before herself.   For example, the last major event that we were all gathered at was a funeral back in March. At the reception following the service, she made sure her ex-husband (stroke victim & in a wheelchair) and his wife (whom he had an affair with & the reason for their divorce 50+ yrs ago) were comfortable, had a plate of food, and something to drink. She even did this at our wedding.

This will be the second time I have lost someone so close to me to cancer. It makes me feel guilty b/c I've battled lymphoma 3 times and came out stronger each time.

    My heart is breaking.

  • My thoughts and prayers I am sending to you and your family.

My Grandma passed away before Celeste was born last year. I was hoping to get at least a picture of the two of them together. What consoled me the most was that she was no longer suffering and tI am sure they spent time together up in heaven before Celeste came out. I am sure she reminded Celeste to be a good little girl because that is what she is now. ?
