do you have a dyson?

which one? do you love it? would you recommend it?

Re: do you have a dyson?

  • I have the Dyson 25 all floors. I LOVE it. We have a dog with super fine hair and it does a great job of picking up her hair. Didn't get the Dyson Animal based on reviews that it didn't work that much different from the normal Dyson. I highly recommend it. Worth every penny.

  • I have the Dyson Animal, I love that thing!  We have 3 cats and 2 dogs with a whole lot of hair!  I have had it about 5 years with zero issues.  It works awesome.  I bought it on sale at Kohls with a 30% off coupon.  I got a really good deal.

  • We got a pink colored dyson (no idea what model) on Black Friday 2 years ago and I got a $100 gift card to Target with the purchase of it.  I would highly suggest waiting til Black Friday because Target usually does this deal most years.

    It's a great vacuum!

  • We have the Dyson Animal ball. I love it so much. We have 4 cats and 2 dogs and hardwood floors. It's a lifesaver with all that hair. We got it at Target for around $400 last May. Worth every penny!

  • We have the yellow Dyson (not a ball one). We love it! It sucks up everything thing and is really easy to use. I have no idea how much DH paid for it (somewhere around $350-400), but it's been totally worth it.
  • Yes we have the dyson dc-17 (purple animal) I have loved it. Ironically though, when I vacuumed with it today it stopped working....so we'll see I guess. We've had ours 2 years.

  • We have the purple animal too. H bought it as a surprise for me since I really wanted one and we needed a new vacuum. He got it at Kohls on sale and with a 30 % off.
He told me if it didn't prove itself on the stairs, he was taking it back and spending less on a different one. We have had it almost 3 years. H loves the motorized attachment for the stairs.
We also love that you can shut the brush head off and use it on our hardwood floors. It always amazes me how much we dump out of it every time we vacuum.
  • I have the pink one & love it. I have had it for almost 2 years

I'm glad you asked this question today- My husband just got a pretty nice employee coupon for dyson today, so I think we might be investing in one!  Our old vacuum is definitely on the fritz Sad

  • I have one of the yellow ones and LOVE it, which sounds weird considering it is a vaccum after-all!  They pick up an incredible (and gross) amount of dust, dirt, dog hair, you name it. I got it before the new ball models came out but still love it (but also want the new model.)

Hecklet - you should call their customer service if you haven't already. Several friends and co-workers mentioned that they called and they got their problems taken care of right away and loved their customer service. One of my pieces broke and they sent me out a new one for free right away, no proof of purchase or anything required.

  • We have the DC24 Ball and absolutely LOVE it!  We have a black lab so there is hair everywhere in our house.  It's actually quite disgusting what you empty into your trash when you're done, it picks up everything.

We have mostly hardwood floors but carpet in a few rooms and I use our vacuum for everything.  I can switch between two options, depending on what room I'm cleaning.  We've had it for almost 1 year with no issues.  Dysons come with a 5 year warranty too and are completely worth the investment.  I will never buy anything but a Dyson now :)

  • We got the Dyson Animal for a wedding gift and it's one of the best things we've EVER owned. We have two cats, one who has very fine hair and sheds a lot and it's amazing what this thing gets up. I have heard things similar to the posts above that the animal isn't much different than the others. We barely have to move furniture because it's easy to manuver and really like the feature it has for steps. We just leave it at the bottom and detach the sucker thing to use while walking up the stairs. We actually LOVE to vacuum now! Although we didn't pay for it, knowing what we know now, we would have absoultely spent the money on it. Great investment.

  • I have the purple one that is good for pets. Got it almost 2 years ago. It is wonderful. I have a little pom that likes to shed her black hair everywhere, so I use it all the time. I would absolutely recommend it.
  • We have the yellow (all floors?) model.  We love it!  I'm also shocked at the dust & grime it picks up that I don't always notice hanging around.  The one complaint I have is that if I switch it from "bare floors" to "carpet" - it sometimes makes a grinding sound - so I always turn if off before I switch those settings.  Maybe I'm supposed to turn it off to switch it in the first place?  I didn't read the manual!  :P  I also really love that it's bagless - I hate vaccum bags!
