Get-well gift for a 7 year old

My darling niece, Mary, fell off the jungle gym at school yesterday and fractured her elbow. I would really like to send her a little something, but don't want to do flowers or the edible arrangements. Any ideas?

She loves Disney Princesses!

Re: Get-well gift for a 7 year old

  • A Disney princess story or coloring book? Maybe a doll?
    Photobucket
  • Did she break her dominant hand?  If so avoid anything requiring writing or coloring.

    Maybe a movie or a new doll/teddy bear/whatever she's into.

  • A book? I know as a young girl I loved Little Women and when my niece was sick I sent her a copy and she loved it.
  • When I was 6, I had to have my tonsils removed.  I'll never forget my favorite gift I got.  My aunt and uncle who lived a couple hours away, called the local florist and had them put together a goody basket for me.  It had coloring and activity books in it (probably 10 different ones), plus a stuffed animal and some snacks (mine all had to be soft since I couldn't really swollow, but you'd be able to do more variety with your niece).

So, I would call the local florist.  Even if you don't want to do something typically "florist" related, they can always put together a goody basket for her.  Also, even if you live in the area, if you have something delivered, your niece will think that's really cool and make her feel really special.

  • Thanks for the suggestions, ladies! I just got off the phone with my brother (Mary's Dad) and he said that all she can talk about right now is her IPOD. So! I'm sending her a little I-Tunes giftcard. :)

    Have a wonderful day!
