Food and Wine Festival

I know the Food and Wine Festival has started up.  I have never been to the Food and Wine Festival so I was wondering what you all thought about it.

Re: Food and Wine Festival

  • I used to work at Disney, and I absolutely love the Food and Wine Festival. If you have never been, you need to go!
  • I was just about to post about this!  I LOVE the Food and Wine Festival.  Hubs and I go several times throughout its run.  We were just there yesterday.  Our favorites were:

pork taco and the chicken tamale at Mexico, coconut beef and the shrimp cake at Singapore, braised short rib at France, fisherman's pie at Ireland.  We didn't try any of the desserts, so I'll definitely have to try that next time.  Pictures to come!

We are also going to the Party of the Senses on Oct. 23rd.

  • I love the Food and Wine Festival. It's one of my favorite special events at Disney.

I actually just posted a short article on my blog today with tips for enjoying the festival. I plan to post some photos and reviews later in the week. Of the new items we tried, I think the Belgium booth, especially the Belgian waffle, was the stand-out. France, Ireland and U.S. are also always favorites.

You should definitely check it out. If you end up going come back and let us know what items were your favorites! :-)

  • My husband and I go every year. This year is amazing! I loved the ravioli and belgium waffles the most.
  • I'm so excited. We are going tomorrow. I usually love the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup and the French Cr?me Brul?e au Chocolate au Lait. I am anxious to try the Belgium waffles.
  • Finally got around to posting photos and reviews on the blog. :) Anyone else have reviews to share?

  • I think we are going to go on Friday. Neither DH or I have ever been. Any tips for buying tickets? Is it best to purchase on site or online? Thanks!
  • Tobio, you were at the Foodie Fest and won?  I'm jealous!  We also attended the foodie fest scavenger hunt!   It was so much fun!
  • Tobio, did you try the strawberry balsamic drink at Poland?  I really want to get a review of it before buying it

Yes, it was fun enough to just do the scavenger hunt, but it was a nice surprise that we won the drawing! That's cool that you were at the event, too. It was a good time. I hope they do it again next year.

I did not get to try the strawberry drink, and I actually haven't seen any reviews of it yet on other blogs? It sounds interesting though. I'm pregnant this year, so other than having one non-alcoholic beer, I didn't get to enjoy the drinking side of the festival at all this year. Hopefully, next year, I'll be able to indulge a little more. Smile

  • Here is a picture(s).  We tried some more new stuff, and really liked the pepper shrimp in China, the emapanada, and the Belgian waffle!  The waffle really surprised us - we were thinking, yeah, we can make a waffle ourselves.  But these were amazing - they were fresh off the iron, and were so tender.

  • The waffles were amazing weren't they? I thought I would need a knife to cut into it, like most waffles, but not these. Fork tender and melt in your mouth!

My other favorite was the Sp?tzle Gratin with Ham and Cheese in Germany. It looked not very appetizing, but it had a great flavor! Yum!
