Does anyone have an e-reader?

I'm thinking of asking MH for one for Christmas because I have completely filled our shelves with my books.  Does anyone have one?  If so, which kind do you recommend?  Would I like it (do you like yours)?

I read a lot.  Like a ton.  Usually a book every week to 10 days.  Our bookshelves are overflowing.  And I buy every book I read (our public library is pretty awful).

From what I've read on the Nest Book Club, it's really a matter of preference.

 A lot like the one through Barnes and Noble as many librarys have e-reader book loaning and the B&N one is the most likely compatible.  I also think you can "share" books with the B&N one too but don't quote me on it.

Others go with the Kindle because they like how it feels and it's also been around longer.

I think one of the ladies on the NBC board have a signature dedicated towards actual user opinions on the e-readers.

That's my problem!  I like holding books.  But my bookshelves are starting to get angry with me....

I don't have one, but if I was going to get one I'd probably get the Kindle since you can D/L bks through Amazon.

I think the nook is probably the one I will get if I get one.  It sounds more like it has everything I would want.  Can you download books through Amazon to the Nook or do you have to go through Barnes and Noble?

Looking at the bio Mel posted I think the Nook would be the more favorable way to go. Mandy if you end up getting one let me know how you like it!

So, I was going to have MH get me one for Christmas, but I'm more of an instant gratification kind of girl...so I'm thinking of ordering it tonight.  I do have this barnes and noble gift card burning a hole in my pocket...this would be a good use.

Mandy, I purchase them directly on the nook from bn.com.  The prices are pretty reasonable.

Last night MH begged me to let him get it for me for Christmas.  So I'm waiting. 

If I don't get it for Christmas I may hurt him though.  I reallllly want it now!
