I bought some potted hibiscus at Lowes on super clearance ($1 each!). How do I keep them over the winter.. In the house? Or would they be ok in the garage? They are dormant right now.
I am zone 4.
Re: Hibiscus
I've never tried to do this because I don't get enough light in on room to overwinter plants. Plus, I'd hate to bring outdoor bugs indoors.
But, here's what I found that may be of some help:
The section for hibiscus is halfway through the article. http://urbanext.illinois.edu/gardenerscorner/issue_03/03_Fall_03.html

I'm in zone 5.
Our hibiscus go in the garage for the winter. There's not a lot of light in there, so by the time spring rolls around they look pretty bad--they've lost most of their leaves, remaining ones are yellow, etc., but they always come back and look great once they get back outside.
Silly question - am I supposed to water them ?
This is awesome, thanks!
