First off FIL is still in the ICU trying to get better. His liver is holding steady which is great news for our family. His platelet levels are still at 5...yes 5. Super low, but they found a new bleed in his GI and fixed that, they also started steroids to try get the platelet levels up. We are keeping our fingers crossed this will help. I hope he can come home by this weekend, but I'm just not sure if that is a reasonable thing at this time. Our family really appreciates the prayers and vibes you sent to us, it really means a lot to me.
Second bit of news...the better news...Andrew was offered a new job. It would be a big leap in salary and would get us a lot closer to paying off all our debts and move into a house by the end of next year at the very latest. He has another interview tomorrow afternoon and will make a decision after that if he will take the first offer or see if the second place can make a better offer. Both jobs would allow us to move back to my hometown and cut our traveling budget greatly. We are really excited about his new offer, and that he would be a senior programmer and manage a team of junior programmers.

I'm so sorry about your FIL, but glad to hear that he's improving.
Congrats to Andrew on the new job! I know this is a tangent, but what kind of programming does he do? MH recently got interested in programming and is looking into a career change but I think he could use some insight into what a career in programming is like. He works in Python mostly, and is teaching himself -- so, no computer science degree; but he's working on building a portfolio.
Wow that is a lot of stuff for you guys to process. I am so glad that that in the middle of some of the things your family is going through you guys have a bit of good news.
Good for your dh!!!!

That's great news that Andrew has such a great offer that ALSO comes with the convenience of being where you want to be AND getting you closer to some of your goals! Will it be easier for you guys to buy a home in that town vs. where you are now?
Kathy, houses where we want to be are more affordable and the taxes are about 1/2 of what we would pay where we currently live. We would get more house for our money when we finally move out there.
