DH and I are on a self-imposed spending freeze for the month. We had WAY to much fun this summer and made the house look great.
Only exceptions are work related expenses (I get reimbursed for parking, but have to pay in cash for the cheap-o lot when I have meetings downtown), gas to get to/from work and errands, the puppy's spay surgery (the only agree exception to expenses) and basic food (no eating out, but we will buy salad stuff/chicken so we can eat.. but working on eating down the pantry).
Any bets as to who will either A) Break the code first? or Make it the whole month with no expenses! I'm thinking DH will buy lunch with the buddies. It's hard, but I think it can be done. Got to get back on track if DH ever wants to have money for a newer car.
Now we have to go suck it up and pay out water bill... it was due today and we totally forgot. Usually paid online, but for some reason we either never got the bill or it was misplaced. I called the City up and they told me the amount and DH was going to write a check before they closed, since it's on his regular route... but didn't get around to it. Luckily the late fee is only $2. He better get to it this week!
Re: Spending freeze October!
Dh paid water bill and they didn't charge a late fee. Score!
Also, DH broke the no-spend rule. Went to the salad bar at his work cafeteria. Said it was only $2.50 and he had cash. There was food at the house he could have brought. I've told him I will not be his mommy and pack lunch for 2 people everyday, it gets old and I don't have time to do it when he is layin' around!
