Re: Open Letter Tuesday
dear assistant principal,
i am sure you took a management 101 class, but your demeanor with me today did not belie as such. it is really, REALLY insulting when you walk into my classroom unannounced and do a full period "unofficial observation" without any warning, because i have no idea what your expectations are.
when you then provide me with a full page of things you think i did poorly, and corner me about them like a caged animal, i have every right to be upset. i have been teaching longer than 90% of the staff at our school; i come earlier and stay later than EVERYBODY else, i take on student teachers every year, and go to millions of professional developments on my own dime. i would appreciate an effing iota of respect for it.

We get it; You're from South Africa, Malaysia and Singapore. We get it; You're confused. We get it; You're certified in a few different forms a ballet. We get it; the terms are starting to get mixed up for you. But *please* stop pointing out how you know things differently and that *all of us* are possibly wrong. It's getting really old really quickly. This grad program isn't all about you. I'm not paying over $15k a semester to hear you whine.
