Ok so I got the purchase figured out. My sister came over and used my computer and "forgot" to tell me.

It still doesnt explain why I couldnt change my password.

Your sister ordered "I love boobies" bracelets?

lol... I was thinking the same thing.

    Breast cancer related possibly?

  • Molly,

Hope you're able to figure something out soon!  That sounds really frustrating.

Allergies are on my con list (for having babies).  I have a fear that I'd have a kid who is allergic to cats and that would be very problematic.  My husband is allergic to pretty much everything, including a mild allergy to cats.  And allergies can be hereditary, right?

Yes I assume so since the first question the doctor asked us was if we had allergies or if they ran in the family.  (They don't.)  :(

It crossed my mind for a split second while I was pregnant, but quickly went away because I thought "What are the chances?  Zero." that he would be allergic to dogs.

Poor T.  Has he had allergy tests yet to confirm what he's allergic to?  Didn't he get tested for asthma too?  I don't remember hearing how that test came back.

    Hope he feels better soon!

Yeah, we got the results back immediatly last Wednesday.  So far, he is allergic to dogs and dustmites.  They want to test him for other things next year when he is older/bigger.  They said if we don't get the dog and dustmite problem under control, it could turn into an allergy induced athsma.

Sad  I didn't realize it was confirmed that he's allergic to dogs.  That sucks.  Sorry.

  • Good morning. This is a chatty group this morning. Big Smile

I have to get caught up on a few things and will pop back on at lunch.

Allergies to things should not be on a con list. The pluses of having children greatly outweigh any allergy issue. I was a huge pet person before Mere came along and NOTHING compares to the love for you child, no matter how big of a pet person you are.

D&M, as a cat-allergic person, I would gently encourage you to get rid of the dogs. I'm on two meds a day and STILL don't feel great around our cat. I've tried *several* different meds/combos/"fixes" and there aren't any 100% effective methods to controlling allergies other than avoiding the allergen. We are looking to re-home our cat right now as I can't deal with feeling cruddy all the time anymore. It pains me to do it, but my health is more important than the cat.

Now that I know what is causing it, I feel so guilty every time he coughs.  And I am growing resentful towards my H that he is so adament at keeping them.  I love the dogs too but I love T more.  And we have to do what's best for T.  Nobody said being a parent was easy!

  • I'm late to this party, but good morning :)

I started my new job yesterday and I think I like it! Today is my last day of classes, and I can't believe that I did it. I actually went to school for something, and I finished it.

    Wow.

  • Well, everyone is chatty today. :) Bout time!

Too funny about the boobie bracelets, glad you got it figured out!

Wop, I want to see a pic of the curtain too! Is there a website link for it?

Poor baby with allergies, that is a tough thing. :(

Speaking of someone from the "not so distant past" I got a text from someone like this last night. He got married last weekend and I'm in a relationship....what a douche.

Yikes!  Guys are so ballsy.  Mine said (paraphrasing since I deleted the email right away) "I saw a picture, you looked good except H was right next to you."  wtf.

Typical. It's just an ego boost for them I think.

Men are so stupid. I was talking to a childhood friend from Maine on FB for about a month and all was cool. Then he started getting weird or whatever and then deleted me. Whatever. LOL

  • Des: do you have a family member that can take care of your dogs?  That way you can still see them.

My son has allergies/asthma.  I can't tell you the difference it made when we pulled up the carpet, and put in tiled flooring.  If I had known, I would have done it when he was born, not 3.

He's off his daily inhalers now and only uses them as needed - mostly during sports with the dust kicking up.

  • For most of September, I was very good about staying focused on work and keeping my internetting to a minimum (you may have noticed I wasn't here as much).

Then I went on vacation last week.

Now I'm back at work, however my motivation seems to have stayed on vacation.  Indifferent

My focus is gone.  Not good!

I totally know what you mean.  I've been back from vacation for over 2 weeks, and I can't seem to get motivated.

I'm trying to convince H to pull up the carpet from T's bedroom and replace it with the floor we just installed in the livingroom.

And I don't know anyone that would take the dogs for us.  All of our family members already have pets.

  • My work is having a chili cook-off on Friday.  I entered.  Last I heard, only one other person has entered, which is disappointing that there's so little interest, but it gives me good odds to win!

We're having one too.  We have one every year on the Friday before the UofM/MSU game.

    Good luck!

Getting rid of the carpet in our house has made a HUGE difference, too. We have it in the basement b/c it's nice carpet and we don't go down there much and in one bedroom b/c theres a built in desk. The door stays shut in that room. I LOVELOVELOVE our hardwood. Goodbye, dander!
