Re: Poll: nicknames for relatives
1. What do/did you call your parents? (Mom, mommy, dad, daddy, etc.) Mom, Dad.
2. What do/did you call your grandparents? They had already died so I didn't call them.
3. Did you have any nicknames for any other relatives? (siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.) Sometimes I shortened my sister's name, and she mine, but no one outside of our house was allowed to do that. We called some relatives "aunt" or "uncle" when they were my mom's cousins. Usually, it's a first-name thing with us.
4. If you have kids, what do your children call you and your H? n/a
5.If you don't have kids and are planning to in the future (or your kids don't talk yet), do you know what you want your (future) kids to call you? Mom and Dad works fine for me. Mommy and daddy bother me very much for some reason.
1. What do/did you call your parents? (Mom, mommy, dad, daddy, etc.) Momma and Daddy. It feels too weird for me to just call them Mom and Dad.
2. What do/did you call your grandparents? I have a lot, all of my grandparents are divorced and most got remarried before I was born. Here's my list:
-Nana and Papa Tom
-Meme and Papa
-Grandma Kenny and Grandpa Kenny (my grandpa's first name is Kenny and we just always called my grandma "grandma Kenny", not sure how that started)
-And then there's my mom's dad. He wasn't very involved in my mom's life or ours, so I've just always called him "my mom's dad". When we do see him, we don't really address him by any name.
3. Did you have any nicknames for any other relatives? (siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.) I used to call my brother "Coco" (his name is Cody). All of my cousins call my dad Bobo (not sure how that started)
4. If you have kids, what do your children call you and your H? n/a
5.If you don't have kids and are planning to in the future (or your kids don't talk yet), do you know what you want your (future) kids to call you? I'm not sure.
