bathroom update

No pics yet, sorry! :(

So our bathroom is like 90% done. Well... depends on how you look at it, actually.

The tub/shower is in, the vanity is installed, new floor is down & sealed, new toilet hooked up.

The paint... ahhh the paint. We wanted to paint 12" vertical stripes equally spaced down the walls. The guy doing our bathroom was very reluctant to do them (now I know why) but agreed to do them for a little extra $$. I don't want to talk bad about this guy at all, he really did great work overall, but he had never done stripes before and didn't really know how to approach them, I believe. So the stripes are there, but they kinda suck (in person, in pictures I doubt you would notice anything wrong with them) so we are redoing them ourselves. And no, we didn't pay him the extra $$ for them. He was cool about it, and we were cool about it, so he just finished up everything else and went on his merry way.

We only hired him to do the big stuff - install tub/shower, repair drywall, and put in the new floor. And paint, but whatevs. There's still a lot of finishing work that needs to be done - base molding, new painting, plus we're installing shelves ourselves also, towel holder/toilet paper holder, accessorizing (although I'm a minimalist when it comes to decor in bathrooms).

I may post a pic or two of what it looked like before & now, but I don't have my camera with me at the moment. Trust me when I say our bathroom went from dingy 1970's to clean & beautiful 2010. :D So I'm very pleased thus far!

I would even recommend the guy who did it. Yeah it took longer then expected, but in my experience every home reno takes longer then expected, lol. Plus he did do good work and was soooo reasonably priced.

eta: Horizontal stripes, not vertical.
