  • omg my half is Oct 24th and I'm getting soooo nervous! I have an 11 mile long run this saturday then one more week of training before the taper...ahhhhh! I've been doing pretty well but have some posterior shin splints that are kicking my behind. I love me some ibuprofen right now. 

    In other news - I ran a 5k the other weekend in prep for race day jitters and was really happy with my time. I ran it in 28 mins flat (it was a reallllly hilly course, like 3/4 uphill and 1/4 very steep downhills). My goal was 27 but because of the topography I was ok with my time.

    Any race plans for you? 

  • congrats! I would love to have a 28 in a 5k!

    Right now, I haven't been running much, but hopefully I can get back into it. I need a gym membership...its been raining for the past two weeks constantly.

    I'm planning on running a 5 mile Turkey Trot in November, but I want to do a 5k before then...so we'll see.

  • I'm finally enjoying the running here because the weather has been awesome. I did get caught in a downpour the other day during a 5 miler though... it wasn't bad when it was sprinkling but when the water started sopping out of my shoes it was a PITA
