DH and I are looking to buy a new TV and are going in between a LG 47" LCD and a LG 55" LCD. Our couch (without reclining) is 13ft away from the TV. I know a 55" would be big, but we are big TV/movie watchers. What do you think is the best bet? Obviously we would save money on the 47" but we have been saving for the 55" so it isn't a HUGE factor. TIA!

Re: Best TV Size?
We have the same set up in our living room. with a 60" modern tube. We also have a 40" in our bedroom abour 2' from the end of our bed. When we upgrade we will put the 60" in the bedroom (though rearange so it will be a little further away) and either get a 55" or 60" 3D tv for the living room
(so I would pick the 55")

Note: Some audio-visual critics have observed that fixed-pixel displays tend to show their pixel structures at closer viewing distances, so one might notice a sandy texture to the screen when the set is viewed too close. This underscores the importance of maintaining an appropriate viewing distance between you and your LCD monitor when configuring your viewing area.
The right distance depends on the size of your TV:
