I like them.  But it's a bit much.  I think for one wall that would work and then a complimentary paint color on the rest.  But for the whole thing, it's a lot going on.  At least it's neutral colors.

I've been looking at it for about five minutes, and I can't really decide whether I like it or hate it.  I agree on the neutral colors.  Maybe if the contrast was toned down, it might be pretty in a green or blue.. My fear, though, is that if the contrast were toned down it would look like a shotty paint job.

NMS, but I could live with one wall.  Every flat surface = out of control.

I'm not a fan. It seems like it's trying to convey luxury, but ends up looking tacky.

Something about it screams 80's to me too. But, the chandelier and orange oak trim may be contributing to that...

Is it wallpaper?  Or is some paint technique?

I'm not really a fan of faux finishes..and I agree that it feels a little 80's. NMS for sure. I don't feel as strongly about it as I did the pretty pretty princess kitchen, but I wouldn't do that in my home unless I needed to mask some messed up walls.

it could be either.  My parents have something similar (but not as slap you in the face obvious) that they had a professional muralist come in and do in their living room.

I think it looks like faded pee stains or cigarette smoke....IMO...

It looks like something that could work in a small bathroom maybe but not the way it's done in the photo. It's much to busy for a big space.
