Bags on new trees

How long do you leave those bags used for watering on new trees? Thanks!

Re: Bags on new trees

  • Please don't think I'm trying to be a smartasse, but the correct answer is as long as they NEED them.

How much water will be getting to the roots without them?

Some trees (such as Maples) establish faster than others and don't need much supplemental water, and don't need it for as long.

Some soils are drier than others. Some parts of the world are drier than others. It depends on many factors, but water is the single most important factor in plant establishment.

  • Thank you! It is a Maple and I will pay more attention to how much water it gets w/o the bag!
