Suggestions for a tub & tile cleaner/ whitener from an ex-Soft Scrub user?

Which earth-friendly, non-toxic, kid-safe product(s) have you found successful in removing scum, mildew and brightening your bathtub?

    I was not very successful with baking soda (or borax alone) on tub scum.  It worked OK for the sink, but the tub was harder.

  • I use baking soda for a lot of cleaning, but for tubs or other surfaces with stains/build-up, I love Bon Ami powdered cleanser.  It does an amazing job of cutting through soap scum and removing stains, and I can scrub a tub way faster than when I use baking soda.

    It's supposed to be very "green", though I've been meaning to research it further... If anyone has looked into this in more detail, please feel free to share.  I haven't yet come across anything that says that Bon Ami is NOT eco-friendly, but again, I haven't had the time to research more in-depth.

  • Scrubbing bubbles has a green cleaner that smells like oranges and works really well. Otherwise, anything you use to cut grease, such as organic dish soaps work great in the tub. Tub scum is primarily grease...
