We're having our back yard excavated and resloped because there used to be a big ditch and the previous owners made a really weird shape out of the yard. According to our HOA, we have to leave a swale for drainage which means we will still have a drop-off. Does anyone else have a yard like this and if so, do you have any landscaping ideas of how to make it a focal point or make the drop-off less dangerous? Pics would be great as well. Thanks!
Re: Landscaping ideas
we have a swale, but it isn't very deep. The swale runs along the fence line to the right of the picture and then cuts in where the rocks and grass meet.
We just installed the fence this year. Since I can't plant in the swale, I'm going to do containers that hang on the fence next year.
