Need advice....

My little niece (2 yrs old) has a stomach bug of some sort, SIL says she hasn't eaten since Friday afternoon and started actually throwing up Saturday morning.  She is still throwing up today (has a Dr. appt this afternoon).

I feel bad for the poor little girl,  but at the same time I pick my nephew up from school Thurs and Fri.  Since his little sister is sick I'm worried he might pick it up from her in the next couple days....this sounds selfish but I don't want my kids to get sick.  PJ's only 5 months old and I couldn't imagine the poor little guy being sick.  I am not sure what to do about this.  She already had me pick him up last week and didn't tell me that he had a horrible cold, I got to find out when I got him from school and had to wipe the snot off his nose all afternoon (and yes she did know he had this cold she just didn't tell me).  I'll wait it out and see what happens, but should I say something to her now, like if he's sick I can't bring him to my house?   I don't want to sound like a rude biiitch but at the same time I really don't feel like bringing a germy kid into my house.

If it's just a cold and he's washing his hands often, not licking your kids/coughing and sneezing directly on them, and not putting their toys in his mouth then I would still let him come over if it was me. Sounds like it's only for a short amount of time. 

If it's more flu-like with the throwing up and stuff then I wouldn't want him coming over either.

It's for about 3 hours after school when I get him.  Problem is he's only 4 and has NO concept of personal space, and he also is a nose picker    It's too late for the cold thing, since he was already over when he had it, but my fear is that he'll pick up the stomach bug and bring it over...I'm very picky about germs and

I know there isn't anything I can do about it, and if he's not sick I'll still get him, I just don't know if I should say something to her now?   Even if he gets it Wed and is ok Thurs and goes to school, I don't really want him over b/c you're still contagious at that point....

I'd say something now so that she has some notice and can plan for someone else to get him if he's sick. I don't think it's bitchy at all, because what Mom wants their kids to get sick??

Cool...I know I'm a germophobe, so I didn't know if that was over reacting or not.  I'll say something to her now, just so that she knows that if he does happen to catch the plague he isn't allowed to bring it here

Hell*s no!! If his sister is sick then chances are he will be sick. No way, especially with an infant. I don't care if it is even a cold I wouldn't do it. That is me though.

I would tell her you can't her help out, especially since his sister has been sick since Friday and you don't want to bug to come into your house.  If she didn't understand I'd think she is rude.

I would really enforce the handwashing, be almost a little too careful about it.  But if he shows other more contagious symptoms, I would let her know that you don't want to get your LO sick.  She should understand, being a mom as well.
