Back in Black

I was intrigued by Samfish's question about dyeing faded black clothes black again and decided to go for it.

I used the liquid RIT dye (because they were out of the powder stuff) and followed the directions on the bottle. It worked well, depedning on the garment, but it certainly didn't make anything worse. It did make a mess of my washing machine so there was so post-dye cleanup involved. My ratings:

Good: cotton shirt and cotton cardigan

Fine, but not fabulous: polyester/rayon/spandex trousers

Poor: cotton spandex yoga pants that were extremely worn
