Vacation in San Diego - Weather in Nov?

We have decided to take another family vacation back to San Diego since we loved it so much last time we were there about 6 months ago.  We also want to take advantage of it before our son turns 2 and we have to buy him his own airline ticket.  We will be there 11/3-11/8.  I am wondering what the weather is like.  Last time we were there was 2/26-3/1.  It is warmer in Nov?

What are some fun things we can do with our son who will be 22 months  then?  Last time we went to Sea World and the San Diego Zoo.  Any other ideas?  I was thinking maybe the aquarium???

TIA!

  • Legoland

  • The Birch Aquarium in La Jolla is really nice, but I can't see spending more than 3 hours there, it's pretty small.  I would agree with Legoland, just check their website, they have "winter" dates when the park is closed (less business).  Did you guys go to Balboa park at all last time?  That is really cool and there is stuff to do for kids, there is also a new Childrens Meusem that opened downtown, I haven't been, but it looks REALLY neat.

  • Ditto Legoland - I worked there summers in college. :)  and the Birch aquarium is a good suggestion too.

As far as weather... I don't know that it would be much warmer than Feb, not sure what it was like when you were in town. Really, you never know. Most likely it will be 60s -  low 70s.

  • You should have nice clear skies and crisp weather. It will still be in the high 60s during the day (maybe low 70s) and then cooler at night. You probably won't need jackets, just a few sweaters and layers depending on where you go.

Legoland, Balboa Park (puppet theatre is great for kids, and the carousel and mini train ride on the north east side of the park), Children's Museum downtown, and I will suggest Seaport Village (a tourist trap) but there is always some kid friendly entertainment going on.
