Downtown Happy Hour Event
Hi Ladies-
I haven't written a post in a while, but wanted to let everyone know of a great Happy Hour event I'm hosting this Thursday, October 14th. The event benefits CAWC (Connections for Abused Women and their Children). If anyone wants to network or have a drink while supporting a great cause - this is your event!
The details:
- Location: Grami - 160 E. Grand Ave (formerly the Regal Beagle). It recently underwent a redesign and is under new management.
- The special goes from 6-9 p.m.
and includes call liquor, domestic beer and sangria. The first drink is $10 and
all subsequent drinks are just $5 each. CAWC will get a sizable portion of the
proceeds ? $7.50 of the initial $10 and $2.50 from each $5 drink.
- We also will have a DJ and
raffle prizes, which include a $100 gift certificates to different restaurants, theatre tickets, and art. More are to
come.
Domestic
violence is not an easy
topic to bring up in conversation, but CAWC is a necessary organization
that provides resources (including a 24 hour hot line, domestic
violence intervention specialists and training at Cook County Hospital,
and a 43 bed shelter) for women and their children. In fact, CAWC was
the first organization that provided any of these services in Chicago.
With the poor economic conditions, CAWC
has seen the need for its services increase dramatically at the same
time that public sources of funding (primarily state) have decreased.
Please come out and support a great event. If you'd like any other information feel free to PM me or email me at cirrus319@gmail.com
