Creative Inexpensive Christmas Present Ideas

Hey ladies,

I know it is still a little ways away, but I am trying to get started on figuring out what I am getting my relatives for Christmas. As the economy is still horrible my husband and I are on a tight budget this year. I am wondering if any of you have creative ideas that are relatively inexpensive for gifts. I have plenty of time to make things, but little money to spend. Any and all ideas are welcome!

These are some that I have thought of:

1. Calendar with wedding photos (since I got married in July) and with people's birthdays and important family dates on them,

2. Recipe book with our favorite recipies with little samples to go along with it.

3. Memory jar for our parents and grandparents this would be asking friends and families to e-mail or mail a kind memory they have of the person. Then putting them in a jar so the person could pull one out each day.

Thanks in advance for all your help!

~Mrs. Hart

Re: Creative Inexpensive Christmas Present Ideas

  • I like your ideas! I wouldn't give anyone besides your husband and maybe your mom a calander with your wedding photos on it, though. I know personally I'm really lazy about printing off pictures and putting them in albums. A few friends and family members have given me photo albums and scrapbooks filled with pictures of me with family and friends as presents before and I LOVED it.

Also, I come from a big family, and we draw names so that we're only responsible for buying a gift for one person. Maybe you could propose that to your family? I'm sure you guys aren't the only ones looking to cut back on gift-buying expenses.

  • I always bake things. Last year I did holiday tins filled with cookies. This year I'm making pumpkin bread. People always love food and it is relatively quick and easy.
  • Hey! I am on a tight budget too and I found a great website called Artscow.com. I am getting pretty much everyone something off this site. It is free to join and when you join you get a ton of free things. You do have to pay shipping for them but its not expensive. Some examplys of free things are Ornaments, scrapbooks, calenders, totebags, prints. And the site has just about anything you can think of and you can put pictures on it.
