Milwaukee Sushi Recommendations?

I'm new to the area (see intro post below) and am dying for some quality sushi. The only place I've tried so far was Umami Moto and DH and I weren't very impressed. Can anyone recommend some GOOD sushi restaurants in the area? Thanks!

Re: Milwaukee Sushi Recommendations?

  • I like Kyoto by Southridge Mall. I still haven't found a place in the MKE area that rivals what we had in Japan, so take the recommendation for what it's worth!
  • We like Fujiyama. There's one in Brookfield and one in West Allis.

  • thanks for the suggestions!
  • I also like Nanakusa in the 3rd ward.

  • My favorite is Wasabi near Brookfield Square Mall.  They employ actual Japanese sushi chefs-something that is few and far between in Milw.

I would avoid Yokoso and Asiana, I've had terrible service at both places.  Asiana actually went so far as to argue with us when we said their inari was made wrong.  They served us cold inari pockets sans rice. They insisted this was their "style".
