What am I missing here?  Should I make an app?  Should I have another meat option for the kids like chicken tenders, etc?  What are your suggestions?

Re: Need menu help

  • I would slice the roast beef in au jus and serve with small rolls for sandwiches.  Also, I would go with the mac and cheese, as it's probably more of a crowd pleaser, especially if there are small children.  To that point, yes, I would serve chicken as well, as even some adults don't eat beef.

I think you should definitely have a couple of snacks/appetizers, as people always like something to snack on.

  • I like your idea about the sandwiches... that might make the meat stretch farther too.

Any suggestions for apps?  Preferably something that would fit with my theme...

  • I agree with the chicken, maybe even chicken nuggets! My niece has made me realize that even though adults rave about your cooking, they just don't care to eat it. (sigh! my homemade lasagna was supposed to be amazing! lol!) she eats generic chicken nuggets and lettuce with ranch! I know that some kids don't like green beans, perhaps some corn or raw crunchie veggies like carrots. Also, I would check to make sure no adult or child is allergic to anything, being a vegetarian and my bff allergic to gluten, it is the sweetest thing in the world when a hostess remembers this! ( not to say that you revolve your menu around those of them who have that, just being aware of their awkward eating  problems/habits scores bonus pts!)  If you really want lunch and are prepared to serve when they get there, i wouldn't worry to much about a lot of apps, kids will eat only that and nothing else if you let them!!
