Favorite Salad toppings

Can you guess what I'm having for lunch today?  Stick out tongue

My favorite are chick peas, red peppers, carrots, pepperocini and feta with Good Seasons Italian dressing.  And FF croutons!  I wish I liked more veggies...

I have yet to try a salad with fruit on it.  Can anyone recommend a yummy one?

What are your favorite toppings for a salad?

Re: Favorite Salad toppings

  • I love salad toppings. I love Chinese noodles, almonds, and mandarin oranges. Strawberries and almonds or walnuts are good with poppy dressing. I also love feta, craisins, and almonds with a balsamic vinaigrette.

  • It varies depending what we get from the CSA but usually always have carrots, bell peppers, radishes, mushrooms and onions, chickpeas, sunflower kernels and/or a handful of walnuts and pepperoncini.

When we have them I love to put roasted beets on. For fruit the only thing I'd add is craisins or yellow raisins, maybe a diced Granny Smith.

  • Depends on what is in season, but usually:

chick peas, olives, carrots, red pepper, cucumber, artichoke hearts and maybe some feta if I am feeling crazy.

  • I also like craisins, feta or blue cheese, nuts and balsamic.  Yum!

I am a huge fan of salad toppings, esp. when I don't have to make the salad!  I love anything except croutons, any other breaded product, and olives.  I wish I liked olives, but I just can't get myself to eat them.

  • I agree with Jessica...salads taste SO much better when someone makes them for you.

  • There isn't much I won't put on a salad. I love madarin oranges, strawberries, and raspberries on salads.  Blue cheese, avocados, chickpeas, artichoke hearts, olives, tomatoes, cilantro, walnuts, pine nuts, apples...yup....I'll put just about anything on my lettuce :-p

Same with me! I love nuts and lots of fruit mixed with cheeses. Simple, light dressings are my favorite way to top it off!
