Wednesday Vent, plus a positive

Hi Ladies,

Hope everyone is having a good week! I was until last night and just needed to vent. DH, A & I were going to go for a walk. Where we live there are no sidewalks on our street by us but if you walk down about a block sidewalks begin. We were on our way to the sidewalk and walking in the grass because people drive like maniacs around here. I noticed Ayden's blanket was slipping so I went to go grab it before it hit the ground. All of a sudden I'm down on the ground. There was a hole in the grass I didn't see and fell and sprained my ankle. It is all huge and bruised. My pride was hurt more than anything but today I am super sore and taking care of A is quite challenging with only 1 good foot. I feel so stupid!

My positive is I  am making my first crock pot meal courtesy of  leigha and mamie! BBQ pulled pork.

Any one else have anything they want to get off their chest?

Re: Wednesday Vent, plus a positive

  • Sorry about your ankle! I hope it heals up well and quickly.

Let us know how your pulled pork turns out!

My vent: When I went to buy my face lotion last month at Estee Lauder, they were out of the specific one I needed, so I decided to try a new one they came out with. BIG mistake. Huge. My poor chin has been broken out just about every day since. And of course, I threw away the box, so I doubt they'll take it back. So I'm probably out $40. Crying

We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

Ouch about your ankle--I hope you get back on two feet quickly.

Leigha--take the receipt and the product back to the counter and say you're having a bad reaction and want to return to your favorite product.  If they won't help you there, call Estee Lauder's national customer service.  I've done the same thing with products I didn't like, and I've always gotten a refund.

  • mb&d - Sorry about your ankle! That sucks Sad

Leigha - I agree with steph. Which store did you buy it at? I know Nordstrom is pretty good about customer returns, as is Macy's.

My Vent: I was sick Monday and missed class. I still haven't heard back from my professor, and since we don't have a syllabus (they've been just announcing assignments each day), I have no clue what's due today. I hate being unprepared!!!

  • I don't think I have the receipt. But I know the day I bought it and have the debit card used.  It was Macy's, but I have nothing to prove it. :(

ETA: I'll give it a try this weekend, though. If I can't find the receipt, I'll print out my bank statement.  If that doesn't work, I'll call the hotline Steph suggested. I definitely want my old product, so I'm not even asking for money, just something that doesn't make me break out (worse than I do on my own).

  • mb--I'm so sorry about your ankle. I hope it heals quickly so you're back on both feet again soon.

Leigha--Ditto steph. Most stores will take back products that cause a reaction, even without packaging.

SBS--Sorry you were sick. I can't believe your professor didn't get back to you!

My only vent is that I'm at work today while DH is home taking care of our sick baby.Sad

  • This could not have come at a better time.

    This has been the day.from.hel1.

Without going into too much detail - I host webconferences for AH companies.  I had one on the books for today; new client (big new client); didn't technology fail me half way through.  I couldn't reconnect to the server.  Very embarressed; lots of additional paper work.

Sister tells me she has court today but didn't realize it (she's flaky), and my mom was there (nobody in my immediate family speaks with my mom, we don't like her, all for different reasons), she is teaming up with my sisters baby dady for him to get full custody of their son.

Sister who is currently living with my dad in an apartment tells me that dad's not doing too well.  I talked to my dad last night; he said he's been doing good.  So...dad's lying to me.

Was talking to a collegue in their office - basically got yelled at b/c I'm never working.  Right.

    I hate today.

  • Ugh--my vent.  I'm headed out on a field assignment.  It's been delayed by a few weeks, and tomorrow's finally the day.  The company's not sure how long I'm going to be there, so I'm packing every cold-weather item I own and getting ready to deal.  But it didn't feel good to buy a one-way ticket to West Texas this morning.
  • mb, how did you make the bbq?

My vent: My sewer lateral was finally replaced today after a lot of drama, but my poor side yard is completely dug up. It looks like crap. :(
