S/O bathrooms..

Remember that hideous pink 1/2 bath I posted about awhile ago?

We've begun the reno.  Nothing tooo major, but the wallpaper has been removed, the curtains are gone and I will be painting all the pink tile white and the upper 1/4 of the walls will be painted a lovely shade of green with matching white trim

So far just the wallpaper is removed, but hopefully we will be able to get moving with it this weekend.

Yep, undertaking tile painting... if I don't die of fumes, I will post pictures.

Re: S/O bathrooms..

  • Good luck! It'll be worth it. Can't wait to see pics.
  • Sounds like it's going to be looking much better very soon!

How do you paint tile? We have this hideous orangey-brown tile on our fire place that I'm dying to replace, but I would also be ok with painting it.

  • Can't wait to see what the painted tile looks like!

I was given two way to do it, so I'm going to try the less toxic one... clean tile, sand tile, prime with Zinzer 123 and then paint as I would.

There is also a kit you can buy from home depot, but apparently the fumes are horrible.

  • I gotta say, I'm sad to see another Pink Bathroom die. :( I had one once and LOVED it! But I'm very into vintage things, especially in houses. I'll take retro tile counter tops over granite in a kitchen any day!

Btw, I found this and thought it might amuse you!

  • Don't worry, our mint bathroom is far cooler and really the vintage show piece.  The pink... doesn't match the floor and it just looks terrible, so it's got to get painted.

    That website is awesome!!  LOL.
