There's a particular reason I'm so excited. I got 2 broccoli plants earlier this year, plopped them in the ground, and they grew like gangbusters. Then I saw the groundhog, who attempted to destroy both of them on multiple occasions. He succeeded with the first plant, which I left out as a decoy for a few days before giving up. He kept running at the second plant, but it kept growing leaves again and again.
It seems Mr Groundhog has moved on to greener pastures (LOL) and I saw broccoli crowns today. I'm so proud.

Our little Irish rose came to us on March 5, 2010
Don't drink the water.

Re: We have broccoli!
my bunnies decimated my eggplants... suddenly they are back and I actually have flowers and some small fruits. I'm doubtful I'll actually get anything before our first frost in about 3 weeks.
My bunnies decimated my swiss chard and it is back too.
