RAVE: tried tom's of maine toothpaste!
I ran out of toothpaste, so I decided to try Tom's of Maine. I love it!
Re: RAVE: tried tom's of maine toothpaste!
Lurker here with an FYI:
Tom's of Maine is great, but I wanted to warn you about an issue I had when I tried to switch to more natural toothpastes. When I switched from conventional toothpastes (Colgate Total) to Tom's of Maine, my teeth turned gray. I discussed the problem with my dentist and hygienist and they both said that some toothpastes, even all natural ones, can have that reaction with some people. I am one of the lucky ones. I switched back to Colgate Total, but apparently the switch to a different toothpaste was all it took to trigger the reaction, because my teeth were still turning grey no matter what I used (Colgate Total, Crest Whitening, Aim, AquaFresh). Now I have to use absolutely plain toothpaste (I use Colgate Junior) to prevent the greying.
something like this happened when I tried Crest Pro Health, there is something in it that caused my teeth to stain more. I never thought a toothpaste that is supposed to keep teeth clean would cause them to stain!
I stay away from all the Pro Health crap now.
I have, but the taste was gagging so I just gave up. The funny thing is my teeth are whiter now than they were when I was using whitening toothpastes.
Tom's was the first "natural" toothpaste we tried several years ago. We both hated it at first, but we got a weird peppermint flavor that neither of us liked. We tried a different flavor the second time around, and that was much better. : ) We've tried other green brands, but we always go back to Tom's. I will admit I hate their tubes, though. Jeff squeezes from the middle instead from the bottom and it's really hard to fix that; sometimes the tube even gets little holes in it.
I hate using any other mainstream toothpaste now if I forget ours because it tastes sooooo sweet and gross.
Another Jason's fan here! I haven't tried Tom's..
