Anyone interested in livening this board up? Virginia's not this dull, for crying out loud!
What's everyone looking forward to doing now that fall is finally here? I'm gearing up for my second, live-and-in-person Hokie football experience and I'm planning a day trip down Skyline Drive once the leaves change a little more. Fall is, hands down, the best season in this state. Has anyone been apple picking? I haven't been, but I've heard it's fun. Maybe this is the year to try it out!
Re: Livening this place up
I'd looked forward to being able to get to the beach and stay in an Oceanfront hotel now that tourist season's over and the prices are normal again. We got to stay in one on the weekend of the 2nd, so I got to cross that off my to-do list! Lol!
I've been wanting to go to one of those cornfield mazes. There are so many farms that have them, I don't know which to pick!
Well we didn't end up going to the Hot Air Balloon Fest. It was too windy and the balloons weren't flying. I hope to go next year.
We went to Graves Mountain Apple Fest instead. They have great jewelry and crafts for sale. We bought our dog a nice wooden feeding station. If you have a chance to go, you can not leave without trying the bbq pork sandwich and of course the apple donuts!!! I can't explain how good these are!
Tomorrow- pumpkin carving.
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!!
We are new to this area but I'm curious where would someone go apple picking at?
After 4 years, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs our surprise miracle is here!

Here's a pretty good list of places in the northern part of the state. Marker-Miller Orchard is the one I've heard raves about. It's listed on there.
I'm going apple picking this weekend up in Charlottesville at Carter Mountain...never been there, but I'll let yawl know how it goes!
I'm all for livening this board up!!!
Carter's Mountain is awesome...I was there a few weekends ago for their apple festival. Beautiful ride up to the top of the mountain.
We just got a new puppy so he is taking up our fall....I did a photo op with him the other day with our pumpkins And of course UVA football/ tailgating is our other big fall activity.
Fall is my favorite season!
