I'm going next week and wondering what you think of it and what you like best! thanks

Re: Anyone been to birch run outlet?

  • I've been.  I thought it was nice.  :)  Have fun!
  • It's huge!  There's a ton of stores which makes it kind of overwhelming IMO.  It's nice though.  Have fun!
  • I was there just a couple years ago with my SIL. It was nice but I really wouldn't call it an outlet mall. I didn't see a difference in prices compared to the regular stores. Though it is nice because they do have a bigger selection of store that you don't see around here.
  • It is huge.  Plan to spend the entire day there.  I wouldn't bring kids.
  • It is pretty overwhelming.  My favorites are the Pottery Barn Outlet, GAP Outlet, BCBG, Banana Republic Factory Outlet, and the Sketcher Outlet.  I disagree that the prices are the same as regular stores.  Give yourself plenty of time and definitely don't bring the kids.  They would hate it!

  • My parents only live 20 minutes away, so we go several times a year. We are at the point that we know exactly what shops to go in and can park and shop.  We go to very few stores and spend over 2 hours there. So you could easily spend all day there.

They usually have a shuttle running so that helps as the shops are spread out all over the place.

It depends on what shops you are looking at - some are truly outlet stores with good prices and others are basically another store front with the same prices at the ones at the mall. It really is hit or miss.

Check on-line to see if they have coupons - I'm thinking this mall only does the coupon book that you have to buy for $5 or something like that. The bad thing about that is those coupons usually have a $50 min to purchase to use them so a lot of times you don't use them.

If you have kids or are shopping for kids, they have a Carters and Osh Kosh there. Only shop there if you have one of their coupons from their on-line club. Otherwise it isn't worth it. They list everything at Suggested Retail Price and then have everything "on sale" 40-50% off. These "sale" prices are what you would fine everyday at Kohls, Pennys, Meijer.  In fact, a lot of the stores there do that, list SMRP and then have "sales"

     Have fun!

  • Bass outlet store is one of the worst at over pricing and having things for a super sale. There sale prices are fine, but don't get suckered into buying things because it is such a great deal. Their regular prices are crazy high for the quality of clothes they have.
  • We just went this past weekend!  You can get good deals if you have coupons, and watch out.  We went to pottery barn, and my sister bought a vanity that was a return or something, for her daughter for about $500 out the door, and the MSRP was $1200... there are deals to be had.
  • I used to live 25 minutes away from it and MAN do I miss it there.

they have a LOT of stores, some of which arent really outlets, but most are.  The Pottery Barn outlet usually has some great deals, along with Gap and Carters.

  • I was only there briefly one time so I couldnt tell you much. I like the Tanger outlet which is about 30 miles east of Lansing. It's one big circle and parking is pretty good because you can move your car accordinly lol.
