we might be relocating due to a job. can anyone tell me about dover? good school systems, daycares, stores, things to do? any mom groups?
Thanks!
Re: dover, nh
I really like Dover, it is a nice town with a pretty decent school system (from what i hear) I don't know off-hand of any moms groups, but I belong to one that is seacoast based that you could join! There are a lot of stores on the northside of Dover and in connected Somerworth. I don't know about daycares either (I'm afraid I'm not going to be much help!)
I lived on the north side of Dover for 2 years and really liked how convenient everything was. You have more shopping areas about 15min south in Portsmouth and 15min north in Rochester. The dowtown area of Dover is really nice and there is a nice park nearby (Henry Law Park). They also just built a children's museum next door to the park. I think if we house hunt again anytime soon, Dover will def. be on the list!
If you have any other questions, feel free to page me.....
great city. great schools, lots of shopping options nearby.
the Children's Museum of NH recently opened downtown (it was formerly the Portsmouth Children's Museum but relocated to dover & expanded greatly)
Sawyer Mills is on the south side of town, its near the HS and MS. the closest elementary school is Garrison. easy on & off of Route 16 right nearby and very close to downtown.
