Nan's Gotcha Day - Brunch?

We brought Nandi home a year ago on October 24th, which is a week from Sunday.

Does anyone want to come over that day with their dog-friendly dogs to celebrate?  They can run around like spazzes in the house for a couple hours, have a dog friendly pupcake, and we can have brunch!

Yay?  Nay?  Another day?

Re: Nan's Gotcha Day - Brunch?

  • I'd be up for bringing Pasco! :)  He does well with dogs at the dog park...he's super playful! :)  I'm not sure how he does at people's houses though, but I bet he would have a blast.  Per my husband though, better to meet on neutral ground??  I know nothing about that LOL.

  • Us meet on neutral ground so we can make sure we're not axe murderers?  : )

Or dogs meet on neutral ground?  Technically, you are supposed to introduce dogs on neutral ground to make sure that nobody gets defensive of "their" property.  If they get along there, you can turn 'em loose.  I generally trust other owners that I know when they say that their dogs will be fine with Nandi as long as we're there to supervise closely for the first little bit.  She's certainly not protective of . . . well, anything.  The people that dumped her did a great job of socializing her, so she's very dog friendly.  Weird, right?  Why dump your housebroken, trained, well socialized, slightly chunky, spayed dog?  Stick out tongue  We can introduce on neutral ground, though, if it makes you and Pasco more comfortable!

  • LOL at slightly chunky Nan! :)

I think P would be fine....he gets along great at dog parks but he is BSC the first few minutes and runs furiously around....he might destroy your house ha ha.  :)  He is just so excited to see other dogs that he goes crazy!!

  • Is Nandi a pitbull?  Jacko LOVES pit bulls!  My dog is actually rather discriminating but for some reason he has a thing for pit bulls (and a fear of boxers, but that's another story)  Let me check the schedule and if we're available it sounds like fun!

She was SO cute when we first saw her.  She had little rolls on her sides when she'd sit.  She was about 7 pounds overweight, so not much but those rolls were adorable!

Nan goes BSC when she meets new dogs, too.  Or new people.  I'm not worried about the house - it's pretty well dog proofed after having SD's super genius dog over.  : )

    Is Nandi a pitbull?

Yep!  She's 65 pounds of big blocky head and big booty!

  • I don't know if you all would be okay with me coming and bringing Bueller? He loves other dogs at the dog park, and we have not had problems with friends bringing their dogs over here. I happen to be free and relatively homework-less next Sunday.

If the general consensus is that it would be okay, I would love to come, and it would be just me as Steven works Sundays.

It sounds like Bueller is dog friendly.  : )  Nan's going to be super excited to meet new dogs!  Anyone who doesn't have a dog is still welcome.

I was thinking about making some frosty paws for all of the dogs.  The recipe calls for yogurt, peanut butter, honey, and banana.  Is that safe for everyone's pup?  I'm making them pretty small - probably jello shot size?

  • Oh Pasco will lllluuuuurrrrvvvvveee them! :)  :)

I think I may take Pasco to Doggie Palooza at the World Forestry Center afterwards.  Should be fun!

  • J would love you foh-evah for making homemade frosty paws!  I have to check H's work schedule to see if we can make it.  He doesn't get his schedule until Thursday, is that too late to let you know?

Fine by us. Bueller will love those too!

    Nope, that's no problem!

  • That sounds awesome!  We'll be at Doggy Palooza that afternoon so anytime in the am/late am will work for us.

You know how much Finley loves her - he's love to come see her again.

Yay!  Nan is going to be so excited to see Finley again!  And what is Doggy Palooza that y'all are talking about?  The website keeps timing out on me.

ETA:  NM!  It finally worked, and sounds like fun!

  • Oh, and what time works best for everyone?  This is all we have planned for Sunday.

9?  10?  Compromise with 9:30, or go even later?

Is everyone on board with a breakfast casserole and baked french toast?

We're up early in our house (5am most days), so we are very flexible on time. Breakfast casserole and baked french toast sounds great! Anything you'd like me to bring?

  • I'd say 10 would work!! I dont do too well with getting ready to go somewhere too early. :)  How far west side are you??
    image
  • Thanks Katelyn, but I think we're good!

MrsJRD, we're pretty far west side.  We live just a bit off of Cornelius Pass & Cornell.  I'll PM you guys my address.  : )

  • Late to the party but we would love to meet new pups....we are also scheduled for DoggiePalooza....Elvis will be in the fashion show!  If possible 9 would work better for me....or 9:30 as a compromise?
    image Happy B-day Little E.
  • Oooh, I can't wait to meet Elvis!

9:30 is fine with me, if it's fine with everyone else!

Sweet....need address and what can I bring?

  • 9:30 works. I'll bring mimosa fixins if anyone is up for that??
    image
  • Kristin, you've got a PM with  my address.

I was already going to have mimosas, but if you want to bring the fixings for that MrsJRD I'm cool with that!

Also, I should warn you that our only coffee maker is a Keurig, so if anyone wants real coffee you might want to grab one on the way.  : )
