What part of the election are you passionate about?
I would like to hear other people's opinions of the people and measures on the ballot. I know we are all sick of hearing ads or getting political stuff I mail so, now it is time to see what real people really think.
Re: What part of the election are you passionate about?
Will people shank me if I say that the issue I'm most passionate about is to stop campaigners from banging on my door and shoving sh!t under it? I'm 28, and I can figure out who and what to vote for on my own TYVM.
Anyone who comes asking for a vote is getting told that no, they can't count on my vote. I may or may not be lying about it, but they don't need to know that.
Ugh, no doubt. My biggest issue is when people vote the way someone else says to without doing their own research. You know, the people I work with who vote the way our union tells us to without doing any reading first. Or my ILs who vote the way the Christian Coalition tells them to. Right now they're in a tizzy because both Dudley and Kitzhaber are pro-choice. They generally vote on that issue alone, so now they don't know what to do.
/rant. Really, though, I haven't done enough research to be passionate about anything yet. I need to sit down with that here soon and figure out how I'm voting.
My biggest issues are (and always will be) education and social programs for those in need. A candidate needs to tell me how he plans to manage these programs; and not spend our taxes on endless war spending for example.
Also, If you hate gay people or anyone whose religion is different that yours; you're out.
I also want more green jobs. Well, more of *any* jobs. And I want to pay my fair share of taxes. I do NOT want to be told that just bc my DH and I work hard, and have good careers, we need to pay more taxes than everyone else. Low income peeps should pay. No more 'refunds' that equal more than they ever paid in. And high income peeps should also pay their fair share. Dumping all the tax burden on the middle class needs to end.
So, um, I'm a pretty easy-to-please voter, no?
I also believe HC is a right.
