Well ladies, it was a crazy week, but we're all settled, and had the house ready for the MIL's visit. Other than a friend doing some continued work on various things, and waiting for the new fridge, it's perfect- I truly could not be happier!
We just had the funniest moment with our new neighbor, and I had to share. The day we moved in, after carefully selecting a very quiet neighborhood, we heard a rooster (in suburbia) behind us and thought 'perfect'. The next night, the apparent owner learned out her bathroom window (which faces our back porch, where we were sitting) and introduced herself, and 'Red', her rescued rooster. She politely explained that she was looking for a permanent home, and that he wouldn't be there long. He seems to sleep late, and I work crazy hours, so the crowing doesn't bother me.
So today, her boyfriend brings us a hot pizza, with a note and apology saying that he's sorry that Red has been particularly exuberant lately. I seriously love this place....
I've been laughing my asparagus off.....Never in my life.....
Re: Karma @ Home
Ahhhh NorCal! People have roosters all over the place! I heard one crowing when I was staying with MIL temporarily in the Oakland hills earlier this summer. I thought I was losing it the first few times until DH finally heard it from across the canyon!
Glad you are so happy Karma! Whereabouts did you land? We should totally still get that lunch we've been teasing each other with, now that I have my bearings and once you are all setlled in.
I seriously can't wait to see pictures!!!!
And I'm in love with the fact that your neighbor has a rooster. All my neighbors have is obnoxious children. I think a rooster would be awesome!!!!
Please get this for your house:
Karma: I second Karen's suggestion. You definitely need that for your mailbox. Love it!
Yay for the new house. Enjoy the settling in period. Can't wait to see pictures!
Karen- LOVE the mailbox!!!!
Kel- I'm in Concord, just through the Caldicott Tunnel from ya, and just off the BART line. LUNCH!
