Thanksgiving in the City

My H and I are unable to travel for the holidays this November so we are planning what should be a nice weekend for the two of us.  We would like to go out to dinner on Thanksgiving, something we've done before but not in Manhattan.  We kind of had the idea of trying out something a little extravagant as a bit of a consolation for not spending the weekend with family.  I looked on opentable for places that have availabilities but was wondering if there was a way to narrow down some of the choices. Have you done this before?  Any suggestions?

Re: Thanksgiving in the City

  • I did around Queens a couple of times. They usually have prix fix menus. No suggestions though really. I think we'll just be the two of us too. We're going to cook, because I really want to break out the new china finally. DH likes making turkey.

  • The restaurant I used to work in called, The Harrison, used to have a great Thanksgiving dinner.  I am sure they still do.  http://www.theharrison.com/harrison.php

  • I know you said "No Manhattan", however I do have to say that I did Thanksgiving at Waverly Inn a couple of times and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Hosted 2 family Thanksgivings there, and also went as a couple for Thanksgiving.

Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker ...here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart I carry your heart(I carry it in my heart)
