Where did you get your Christmas tree?

This wiil be our first Christmas married and living away from our folks and I just got to thinking that we're going to nee da christmas tree this year. I want a very full tree and I'm not having luck finding any like what I want. Sooooo where did you get your tree and how much was it? Pre-lit is fine, but I have this thing I feel the best part of christmas is untangling those dang lights. Don't ask why, I just do.

I really wish we could do a real tree, but (A) I'm allergic to everything, (B) I hear they're a PITA, and (C) after seeing Christmas Vacation, I believe it. Stick out tongue

TIA for answering this!

Re: Where did you get your Christmas tree?

  • I've purchased two trees from Sam's Club and LOVE them both! They are both pre-lit and are pretty realistic looking. I've also found them to be the best price w/the most lights and I'm a fan of brightly lit trees. Good luck with your search!
  • Walmart. Right after Christmas a few years ago they clearanced all the Christmas stuff to 50-75% off, and I had just gotten my own apartment so I bought a cute 6' tree for like 15 dollars I think. Now its just the perfect size for me and my man :)
  • I got mine (pre-lit) at target. It really starts to look full if you move the branches around properly and then add a bunch of ornaments. Especially bigger ornaments.

I highly recommend pre-lit and if you enjoy untangling lights, save it for the lights you put up around your house. That way, if the novelty of it ever wears off, you still have a pre-lit tree.

  • I got one at Garden Ridge and one off of home shopping network. Both are prelit and I love them! That way I can spend more time decorating the tree :). I think they were both about $100.

  • I got mine at Walmart. It's a 7 1/2 foot pre-lit tree. I think it was about $90.

  • We got ours at Wal-mart the day after Christmas. It's not pre-lit and it's a 7 1/2' white tree instead of green. I love it. It's held up for 3 Christmas seasons and 2 moves, so I'd say it's a good tree. I think it was $35
  • We got ours at Lowe's. It's about 6ft.. pre-lit... maybe like $40? I plan on buying a real one this year though or atleast another fake one, but bigger.
  • It's prelit, tall and extra skinny, but very full. From sears. Paid $190 at 60% off. Still expensive, but well worth it.

  • My MIL bought hers at Target (she gave it to us). I love it!
  • Hobby Lobby- A 9' pre-lit. I love it! (I think I got mine for like 70% off)
  • Well, we use a real tree - despite my allergies!  They are so nice!!!

However, a few years ago we were living in someone else's place while building our new house and we bought a fake, pre-lit.  It's 7 feet tall and we got it at Home Depot.  It's been great - we put it on our front porch.

  • I'm also in the Christmas tree market. I'm kicking myself for not buying one at the end of the last Christmas season when they were one sale, because I knew I would be needing one this Christmas, and they're much cheaper then.

I'll be going for pre-lit though - I HATE untangling lights! I also like a nice full tree, so I suspect I'm doing to have to shell out a bit for that. And all the ornaments, since it'll be the first tree I've done all on my own (well, it'll be with my SO, but he doesn't have any ornaments to contribute either).

    Life is good today.
  • We got our at wal mart after Christmas a few years ago. It's 7ft and thin but full. It' not prelit because I find the prelit trees just don't have as many lights as I like.

  • We got ours at Target last year a week before Christmas, it was 50% off.
