I've never had it and someone's bringing it to my house for a dinner party. I need to think up all the sides and desserts. I figure all the desserts can just be regular for the season? The event is casual, so nothing fancy required.
Re: What goes with brisket?
For my spicy brisket I do coleslaw (to temper the heat) and baked beans. I also do a cranberry brisket that I tend to do scalloped potatoes or mac and cheese with.
Brisket just makes me think BBQ joint type sides.
homemade mac & cheese; colslaw; potatoe salad; green beans; mashed potatoes.
Also for a little appetizer, I love jalepeno peppers stuffed with cream cheese wrapped in bacon. So good on the grill or oven if no grill. (put in foil, cream cheese will leak)
