Re: For serious

  • I would be embarrassed for her, but damn, that kind of stupid is epic and deserves no sympathy.
  • Oh FFS. I just watched a rerun of the debate on CNN the other day - I could not get over what a fool she was.

I wanted to jump through the screen when she mocked Coons by saying "You're just jealous you weren't on SNL!" HAR HAR HAR.

I didn't think it could get worse.

  • I think anybody who actually votes for her should be put on a garbage barge and set out to sea for the rest of their days.

That pissed me off SO MUCH.  You're not 12, moron.  You're running for the fukking Senate.

I wish I was more surprised by this.  I really do.

  • Yeah, the idea that there is no separation of church/state has been running around the Tea Partiers and other fringe groups for a few years now. It's just a liberal conspiracy, ya know?

These are Biblical literalists, and if the Constitution doesn't clearly say "separation of church and state" then reading it in the Establishment clause is interpretation, and interpretation is bad, bad, bad wrong.

Also, all the Founders were deeply religious and actively sought to build a Christian nation. Nevermind the things they actually wrote and said. Also, you have no right to privacy; that's also a liberal conspiracy.

I fear that because the TP ideas are so ridiculous people won't take the reasons to be concerned seriously.

  • The guy she beat in the primary has got to be lying awake at night, wondering how the eff he lost to her.
  • I get that the TP claims that the First amendment doesn't explicitly call for the separation of church and state.  But this conversation proves that O'Donnell literally has no idea what the first amendment says.

When Coons responded that the First Amendment bars Congress from making laws respecting the establishment of religion, O'Donnell asked: "You're telling me that's in the First Amendment?"

Yeah, actually.  Right there in the first line.

  • Exactly, SB.  It's not so much a question of interpretation as semantics.  I mean, she's not arguing that the Constitution does not require teachers to refrain from praying before class.  She's saying that the First Amendment does bar the establishment of religion.  Really, that's not even semantics--like "separation of church and state" v. "establishment of religion."  That's almost a direct quotation.

This is why her witchcraft thing getting so much play drives me bonkers.  So many bigger issues.

  • Yeah, pretty much the only way you can say there's no separation of church/state is to scan the amendment for the words "separation" "church" and "state" and when you don't see them conclude that the separation of church/state is a myth. You can't possibly have actually read it.

What I'd like to see is more on her using campaign funds for living expenses for the last few years. I think the AG isn't pushing it because he doesn't want it to seem politically motivated, but w.t.f.?

  • S/o crazy politicians, has coverage of Alvin Greene made it out of SC?   This is apparently what happens when the DNC ignores primaries.  Greene's latest, and least problematic, issue was showing up behind a local reporter at the state fair and give him rabbit ears.

Ugh.  Ugh ugh ugh.  She is an embarrassment to this state.  First Jesse The Body Ventura and now this nutjob.  I promise not ALL Minnesotans are crazayzay *points to self*

She has (had?) a few supporters on the Minneapolis Nest board...that made for some interesting posts awhile back  Big Smile

  • Of all the crazy stories this cycle, I still think Alvin Greene is one of the craziest.
  • I swear this now means she will definitely be elected.

Angle is dumber than a box of rocks. If she gets elected, I will probably have a nervous breakdown. It's all the "Elect anyone BUTT Reid" people that are voting for her. Nobody with half a brain would really want her as their senator.

  • I just watched part of the O'Donnell debate. I Lanie-faced the whole time.
