New to the Nest
Hi All
I'm new to the nest but not to Chicago. I just got married on 9.18.2010 and have a wedding planning hangover. What on earth did we do with our time before planning a wedding?!
My husband and I are looking to meet some new people in the area. Most of our friends have shipped out to the burbs and we're just not quiet ready for that since we just bought a condo a year ago. Any suggestions or thoughts for us would be much appreciated!!!

For the Chicago Nesties we have a book club and I am starting a brunch club. Right now both are Nestie women only. If you are interested in either let me know as I am hosting the next book club and I will manage the brunch group. The brunch group will meet on November 14th and the next book club will be on December 9th. For the brunch club we may once in awhile open it to couples, but that is up for negotiation.

We live in Lakeview. I used to live in the Gold Coast and LOVED it! It's tough with all of our friend moving out to the burbs. They don't want to come to the city and we don't want to go there so it makes it hard to see them as much as we used to.
The brunch group I am planning every other month. Every other month we will go to a place for brunch either on a Saturday or Sunday in Chicago. Most of the girls are in their late 20s or early 30s. The one in November will be our first official brunch group outing, though I did set up a brunch get to gether with the nesties back in September.
The book club is a similar age group. This also meets every other month. We usually read fiction. This month's book is Saving CeeCee Honeycutt. The club is always hosted in one of the book club member's home. For our next one in December I am hosting it. The host usually provides small snacks and everyone else BYOBs. We discuss the book but also just chit chat as well. It is usually held the first Thursday of the month at 7pm; however, I am hosting it on December 9th as I have conflicts the first Thursday.
