C25K

Any one tried it? Any one WANT to try it with me?

Re: C25K

  • I did it about 3 years ago when I started training for a half marathon.  It was so doable for me as I'm not a runner.  I did the half marathon and haven't run a step since.  I would love to do it again!
  • I would love to!  I don't know if it's feasible without being a member of a gym since the weather is getting cold very quickly - but I've been thinking of joining a gym soon so I'll be down if that actually goes through

  • I'm trying to start either tomorrow or on Friday. I want to do my 3x a week Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I'm planning on doing a Weekly Workout Check In on Wednesday too just so see how the other girls are doing who had said they needed some motivation.
  • H and I did C25K over the summer and it is AWESOME.  I am absolutely not a runner and it was totally doable for me.  I felt great after our runs and really started to look forward to them.

We ended up stopping a few weeks before it was over (week 6) because we got too busy.  And now that it's getting colder, I don't know when I'll be able to start it up again : (

I totally recommend the program, though!

  • I am doing it right now, and while I am somewhat of an athlete, my sports don't require that much running.  Plus, running was always a punishment for us from our coaches, blah!  Anyway, I am on week four and so far it hasn't been bad at all.  There have been moments where I thought I might want to just fall over, but I keep pushing myself and feel so much happier when it is over knowing I did it.  I do keep a calendar which tracks all of my workouts and that helps keep me accountable.  I definitely don't want to see a lot of off days.  I would recommend that you still do something on your off days, like maybe go for a walk or ride the bike, something just to keep your legs up to it.  At least, for me, that has helped.  Good luck!
